About this collection

Antique portrait painting is the art of depicting a real person, from the court portraits of the Grand Siècle and the elegance of the Rococo to the Salon portraiture of the nineteenth century.

Our portraits range from aristocratic sitters and Habsburg officers to intimate character studies, each an original antique oil, many of them signed and presented in period gilded frames.
