About this collection

Antique landscape painting is the art of the open country, practised by European painters from the seventeenth century onwards, from classical and pastoral views to the Barbizon school and early modern scenes.

The landscapes presented here span several centuries and schools of European painting. Collectors will find signed works by listed painters, pastoral scenes, river views and nocturnes, many presented in period gilded frames. A large landscape remains the classic choice above a sofa or a fireplace, where it opens the wall like a window. Every painting ships free from France to the USA and Canada.
