James Desvarreux-Larpenteur (1847-1937) was a Franco-American painter of the late Barbizon school who spent sixty years on a single country: the heather moor in flower, its grazing flocks, its working oxen and its long pale distances.

Our Desvarreux canvases run from small heather studies to large pastoral scenes with cattle, each an authenticated nineteenth-century oil in its period frame, most of them signed and available to acquire, shipped free from France to the USA and Canada.
